The Effect of Lesson Plans Based on IB Education Philosophy and UbD Model on Student Achievement

This study was made based on some discussions attempting to improve the quality of education by creating appropriate learning areas, differentiating according each student's interests, styles, and multiple intelligences. The aim is implementation analysis social studies lesson plans prepared in accordance with "UbD" ‘’IB Planner’’ for 3rd grade students. conducted using a nested-mixed design within framework mixed method research. In quantitative dimension study, pretest-posttest control group experimental model data were used. qualitative dimension, feedbacks teachers who are implementers consisted 320 students public primary school voluntarily participated study. consists 36 plan. findings show that IB Planner UbD significant difference favor both student accomplishment (posttest) achievement(pretest-posttest). obtained from teachers' feedback implemented indicated included enriched activities comprehensively appeal all students, including special needs gifted same class. addition, it observed differentiated content not limited methods techniques, but also assessment evaluation techniques. Both revealed designed such way could effectively acquire prescribed behavior. Moreover, improved students' skills, self-management communication research thinking increased their self-confidence raised achievement.
